Description:

As Associate General Counsel (Commercial) at An Aerospace Company in Redondo Beach, California, you are an integral part of our Legal team responsible for identifying and managing risks across the organization to ensure the Company is adequately protected through its growth stages. Your core responsibility will be to negotiate and oversee commercial contracts (supply chain, vendors, and customers) and ensure the requisite compliance. You will also be responsible for building the Company's intellectual property portfolio and managing employment labor issues as they arise.

Note: This position is on-site required

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, negotiate and handle all inbound and outbound commercial agreements, including master subscription agreements, reseller/partner agreements, and other types of commercial and privacy agreements with a broad range of customers
  • Serve as a proactive, responsive, trusted and results-orientated advisor who is adept at anticipating customer and stakeholder needs
  • Providing overall management and oversight of legal support to transactions through contract life cycle management, including establishing policies and procedures to facilitate growth and scale
  • Keeping informed on applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance that impact our Company's core product
  • Leading overall compliance program, including partnering with finance, sales, and information technology teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal An Aerospace Company in Redondo Beach, California policies, processes, product capabilities, and compliance requirements
  • Building critical relationships with key stakeholders to effectively provide practical legal and strategic advice to assist the business in meeting its objectives
  • Supporting business teams in identifying and mitigating legal and compliance risks.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of appropriate IP guardrails to facilitate a responsible and protected entry into the market

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited legal program and member of the California bar in good standing
  • 8+ years of total experience supporting commercial transactions
  • 2+ years of in-house experience
  • Track record & demonstrated experience of effectively navigating opportunities, headwinds, and strategic shifts that are common in an early-stage business

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience building a Compliance program in a start-up or early-stage company environment
  • Experience working in or with the aerospace and/or the automotive industry
  • Pragmatic, business mindset
