Come help BMS bring the next generation of medicines to patients! As part of the Patient, Data and Privacy team, this role is responsible for overseeing the support, execution and management of contracting matters related to clinical trials. This role will work closely with business and contracting stakeholders to ensure early identification, prioritization, timely escalation, and resolution of contracts and issues. A key function of this role will be working with the PDP contracting team to identify and timely escalate any issues that would cause delays in agreement execution or challenges with implementation
- Develop and maintain understanding of development priorities and ensure prioritization and timely escalation for key issues, agreements.
- Work closely with the attorneys supporting PDP contracts and broader PDP team and law department to obtain SME input, identify points necessary for escalation and timely advance contracts consistent with enterprise-wide data development acceleration objectives.
- Work with relevant business and legal stakeholders to anticipate book of work needs and prioritize appropriately.
Required Qualifications and Desired Experience
- Law Degree, J.D. preferred from recognized university.
- Qualification to practice law in New Jersey or ability to obtain NJ in-house counsel limited license (including application in process).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mix of a major law firm or the legal function of a major corporation, including through equivalent experience with contracting and transactional matters in an operational or contract management capacity.
- Practical experience drafting and negotiating agreements related to the pharmaceutical or life-sciences industry, focused specifically in the clinical trials space.
- Understanding of health care industry.
- Excellent administrative and organization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can successfully manage internal client expectations and can work/operate well with a variety of personalities/capabilities in cross-functional teams, matrix environment.
- Creative, thoughtful, and possessing problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to assess risk, make decisions and think strategically while applying knowledge of applicable legal issues.
- Ability to listen to client needs and communicate with confidence and diplomacy
- Excellent verbal and writing skills and business judgment are required.
