What we are looking for:
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our associate attorney team. The ideal candidate must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the state of California. Ultimately, we are looking for a candidate to join our collaborative working environment, who is enthusiastic about developing their legal expertise and contributing to the continued success of our firm.
Qualifications:
- 0 – 2 years experience practicing law (post bar clerk will also be considered)
- Experience in estate planning, trust, probate, transactional, civil or family law
- Litigation experience
- Organized, prompt and thorough
- Work independently and follows instructions effectively
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Possess excellent research, writing, verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through litigation process
- Court appearances
- Propound and respond to discovery
- Participate in settlement conferences
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions and briefs
- Conduct legal research
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Prepare for and participate in trials
- Participate in non-litigated probate, trust and conservatorship matters
