Position Overview:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of probate law experience in Ohio who can handle a variety of probate-related matters, including estate planning, elder law, guardianships, and trust administration. In addition to strong legal acumen, the ideal candidate will have excellent networking skills and a proactive approach to business development.

Purpose:
This role's purpose is to be a professional resource to clients requiring expertise in Probate, Estate Planning, and Guardianship law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities by leveraging referral networks, building relationships within the community, and actively seeking new probate and guardianship matters.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload from start to finish, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and compliance with deadlines.
  • Drafting & Filing Legal Documents: Ensure submission of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship petitions, and other probate-related documents.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients in probate and guardianship hearings, ensuring cases progress efficiently.
  • Client Consultations & Analysis: Assess client needs, analyze their status, and provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Billable Hours & Revenue Generation: Meet the firm's billable and collectible hour requirements.
  • Financial & Billable Tracking: Maintain accurate records of budgets, billable hours, and expenses.
  • Guardian Responsibilities: Establish and advise on guardianship obligations and requirements.
  • Client & Ward Visits: When necessary, visit clients or Wards to fulfill legal and ethical obligations.
  • Compliance & Professionalism: Maintain professional ethics, uphold firm standards, and comply with all relevant legal regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Attorney in the State of Ohio, in good standing.
  • 5+ years of specific experience in probate, estate planning, guardianship, and related legal areas.
  • Proven Ability to develop business through an existing book of clients and proven ability to acquire new clients.
  • Strong Communication & Advocacy Skills including public speaking and courtroom advocacy.
  • Proactive & Organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to maintain deadlines and case workflow.
  • Experience in counseling, interviewing, and problem-solving for probate matters.
