Position Summary:A General Practice Law Firm has an opportunity for a litigation associate to join the firm's dynamic and long-established practice representing entities and individuals both locally and nationally. This is an excellent opportunity for associates who are ready to assume a significant role in all aspects of a case in a tight-knit and team-oriented environment. This role requires extensive contact with clients, opposing counsel, third party witnesses and vendors, and government agencies.
Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal research; drafting legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings; attending court hearings; handling discovery-related matters and investigations; preparing for, taking, and defending depositions; and other aspects of complex litigation matters. The right candidate will be proactive and passionate, have strong writing and analytical skills, and have an ability to relate to and inspire confidence with sophisticated business clients.
Requirements:
- Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Illinois.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for experience in complex commercial and/or labor and employment matters.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
