Description:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney. This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated attorney be an integral part of a growing firm. You will represent clients in unlawful detainer and other civil proceedings, as well as administrative hearings with the City of Los Angeles and/or the rent control board.Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies
- Represent landlords and affordable housing providers in housing-related issues, including: inception/termination of tenancy; Fair Housing and similar complaints.
- Motion practice, including drafting complaints/responsive pleadings.
- Draft and argue your own motions in court
- Propound and respond to discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare and draft legal documents
- Advise clients on business and legal transactions
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
Qualifications:
- Prior civil litigation experience preferred
- Previous experience in unlawful detainer preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish Speaker preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a licensed State Bar of California member; no paralegals, legal assistants, or office managers needed.
Salary range is $100K to $150K, or commensurate with experience.
