The ideal candidate for the associate position will be able to handle several diverse cases at a time and be well-versed in all types of insurance defense case law. The ideal associate is required to be an excellent communicator who can provide personalized attention to each matter they are given. A driven attitude as well as the ability to work independently while adhering to the firm standards is necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Doctorate (Required)
  • Florida Bar license (Required). Must have obtained a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and in good standing.
  • Personal Injury experience (Required)

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of agreements, pleadings, and legal opinions
  • Bill all work in billing software and adhere to billing guidelines
  • Work closely with the team to prepare accurate, persuasive briefs, and motions during litigation as well as for cases that go to trial
  • Inform clients about discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and other case-related processes
  • Conduct depositions and discovery, and perform research on legal matters related to specific cases
  • Attend court frequently for hearings and pre-trial conferences
  • Attend inspections for discovery in case matters
  • Handling and managing litigation files from inception through trial
  • Preparing motions and memorandums of law
  • Preparing pleadings, discovery, demands, and responses
  • Court and arbitration appearances, as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  • Constantly operate a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients on case matters. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.

Be able to operate a vehicle for driving to courthouses, inspections, and other meetings.
