Our law firm has a full-time associate attorney position available now and we're looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You'll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Responsibilities:
  • Provide research and analysis of legal issues related to any of the assigned areas of law, including but not limited to, estate planning, long-term care planning, and real estate
  • Draft, review, execute, and file documents and correspondence related to any assigned area of the law.
  • Meet with clients and/or their legal representatives, and attend all required meetings, hearings, and other necessary appointments to provide the legal planning and services necessary to meet their goals
  • Work to make client satisfaction a top priority, finding a quick resolution to client complaints and concerns
  • Represent the firm in the community by participating on boards, committees, and other community groups, when appropriate
  • Report any potential threats to the success of An Elder Law and Special Needs Law Firm to the Executive Director or Owner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and personnel information in accordance with An Elder Law and Special Needs Law Firm confidentiality policies
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
  • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
  • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law with a current license to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania
  • At least 1-2 years of experience doing probate litigation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
  • Able to work independently while handling multiple files
  • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
  • Candidates must have passed the bar exam
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
