About the Job:
A Construction & Federal Procurement Law Firm is a boutique construction law firm, with offices in Belton and San Antonio. We are looking to hire a lateral attorney with 2-5 years of commercial litigation experience for San Antonio office. We offer high-end, complex, commercial litigation cases and a firm that understands work/life balance.

Unlike many firms, we appreciate that you have a life outside of work and we set our billing requirements consistently. Our minimum billable hour requirement is 1,560 per year, or 130 per month. We offer very competitive year end bonuses and can accommodate a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. Candidates must be living in the San Antonio area or willing to relocate.

Candidates must be licensed to practice in Texas. Candidates with at least two years of complex commercial litigation, construction and/or first chair trial experience are preferred. Where a Candidate has litigation experience in a different area of law, the firm is invested in supporting and facilitating the Candidates desire to transition to and learn construction law.

Responsibilities for the position include the following:
  • Managing litigation files including taking and defending depositions; drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests; and conducting mediations
  • Evaluating, managing and resolving claims and lawsuits
  • Directly interacting with clients and opposing counsel
  • Conducting trials and arbitrations (as first and/or second chair attorney)
  • Preparing and negotiating construction contracts
  • Preparing mechanic's lien and payment bond claims

Experience:
General & commercial litigation: 2 years (Preferred)
