Description:We are seeking an associate attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience, that includes experience litigating/defending wage and hour class actions and/or PAGA defense cases in California to begin working in the first quarter of 2023. This attorney will become an integral part of our class action and PAGA defense team and should expect significant responsibility in helping to defend and manage class and PAGA wage and hour cases, work with clients on strategy decisions, and have opportunities to represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings. This can be either a hybrid or in-office position.
When you join CDF, you will join a dynamic and diverse team of highly regarded labor and employment lawyers who practice collaboratively across our five California-based offices as a tight-knit team of dedicated and diverse professionals.
What makes this opportunity stand out? Our culture is flexible. We know practicing law is not easy, so we try to do our best to make the practice less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone. Our attorneys work as a team and collaborate both within the Sacramento office and with the attorneys at our other offices. We represent large and small clients in a wide variety of industries, so there is a variety of experiences that are available. CDF attorneys work with in-house attorneys, HR professionals, regional and division management/executives, and small business owners directly. Our associates are given the opportunity to take on significant levels of responsibility, material client interaction, and leadership roles at the firm. With approximately 50 attorneys spread throughout the state, our resources are very strong, but available without the bureaucracy, politics, and rigidness that is endemic to many large law firms.
Class Action/PAGA Practice
Class action associates will have significant opportunities to be mentored by some of the leading class action attorneys in the state. The chairperson of our PAGA Litigation Practice Group is based in Sacramento. Two attorneys in our Sacramento office are the Northern California representatives of the Wage and Hour Defense Institute, a nationwide invitation-only organization that consists of some of the top wage and hour defense litigators in the country. Our blog and firm webinar series are both managed out of Sacramento, providing attorneys who desire the opportunity to speak and/or write on developments in the class action and PAGA fields with a forum to do it.
If you have at least two years of experience working on wage and hour class action/PAGA defense litigation, and want to consider a change, please confidentially send your resume and an email highlighting your interest and experience (a formal cover letter is not required).
For almost 30 years, CDF has distinguished itself as one of the top employment, labor, and business immigration firms in California, representing employers in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits, and advising employers on related legal compliance and risk avoidance with offices strategically located throughout the state. Our knowledge of California law is very strong and reflected in our blog www.callaborlaw.com, which was recently named as one of the five best California labor and employment blogs on the internet.
