A Law Firm Providing the Highest Quality of Legal Services, an established private law practice dedicated to representing Minnesota public school districts and charter schools, has an opening for an associate attorney. In the course of representing public school districts and charter schools, the associate will work in a variety of areas of the law, including labor and employment, constitutional and civil rights, open public meetings, data practices, student rights, special education, contracts, construction, and administrative law.

Duties Will Include:
  • Conducting research into legal issues;
  • Engaging in the fact-finding process through client interviews;
  • Drafting memoranda, correspondence, opinions, policies, contracts and court documents; and
  • Working with senior attorneys on specific cases and other projects.

Position Requirements:
A successful candidate will have 0-3 years of legal experience and have or plan to obtain a law degree and admission to practice law in Minnesota. Start date can be flexible based on the needs of the successful candidate.

A successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate:
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Strong academic credentials and intellectual curiosity;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others; and
  • Ability to interact with the diverse types of stakeholders involved in legal matters concerning public schools, including administrators, teachers, students, and parents.

Experience in education law, administrative hearings, or litigation is also relevant and would be considered beneficial.
