Job Overview:
Dynamic Cobb County probate and estate planning law firm is seeking an attorney to work with the firm on a part-time basis. The attorney will help the firm and its clients with Probate Court cases (including probate, administration, guardianships, and conservatorships), estate planning and estate administration cases.

The ideal candidate is efficient, proactive in moving cases to resolution, has excellent communication, works well as part of a team, and loves working with clients.

This is a position where you are expected to work 20-25 hours per week, depending on your needs and the needs of the firm. It is a W-2 position, not a contract position. There may be an opportunity for the right candidate to join our team as a fulltime attorney in the future, based on the needs and growth of the firm.

Duties:
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for trial by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and formulating legal arguments.
  • Advising clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and participate in client meetings to discuss legal strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations that may impact client interests or case outcomes.
  • Support clients in estate planning by preparing wills, trusts, and other related documents.
  • Representing clients at mediation and in court.

Qualifications:
  • Attorney licensed to practice in Georgia
  • 2 or more years in practice
  • 2 or more years of experience in litigation, including experience with preparing discovery, responding to discovery, writing motions and briefs, and appearing in court.
  • Proficient in legal research techniques and tools such as Westlaw.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Positive, solution-oriented outlook.
  • Solid knowledge of probate law and estate planning is preferred.
