Description:
A Local Government Law Firm is a well-established small law firm in the western suburbs seeking candidates for an Associate Attorney position at our office in Itasca, Illinois. This position is for candidates wishing to practice litigation in the areas of constitutional law, employment law, and municipal/local government law. We are considering candidates with 1-3 years of legal experience. Litigation experience is a plus.Essential Job Functions:
- Assisting with the investigation and analysis of incidents and potential claims.
- Deposing plaintiffs, physicians, experts, and other parties/witnesses.
- Conducting written discovery.
- Gathering and analyzing evidence and documents.
- Performing legal research.
- Remaining current with developments in the law.
- Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
- Representing the interests of clients at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, and other proceedings.
- Communicating with clients and claims representatives.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
- JD from an accredited law school.
