Description:
Associate Attorney position available with Criminal Defense and Personal Injury firm located in Hartford, CT. This is an entry level position, but candidates with some experience in either practice area will be given preference. Strong preference will also be given to candidates who have strong ties to the local greater Hartford community and have an interest in building their own practices. Strong work ethic and the ability to be flexible and relate to a variety of different types of people is a must.Responsibilities:
- Litigate cases in court on behalf of clients
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts
- Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing parties
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff on case strategy and preparation
- Maintain accurate and organized case files
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Prior experience in litigation and negotiation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
