Overview:We are seeking a recent law school graduate to join our transactional real estate practice as an Associate Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to develop expertise in private lending and lender-side real estate transactions.
This role provides direct exposure to all phases of commercial private lending transactions from inception through closing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of real estate transactions with lenders, borrower and seller attorneys, borrowers and sellers, brokers, and title companies
- Review title reports, surveys, entity documents and related due diligence materials
- Assist in the drafting and review of commercial loan documents
- Prepare closing documents and assist with closing logistics
- Manage multiple files and deadlines in a high-volume transactional environment
- Work collaboratively with other senior and associate attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in managing lender-side real estate transactions from inception through closing
Qualifications:
Education & Admission
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar or pending admission
Experience:
The following experience is a plus, but not required:
- Prior internship, clerkship, or coursework in:
- Commercial real estate law
- Transactional law
- Banking or finance
- Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
Technical skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to learn internal systems and transaction workflows
