Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates attorney to join our team in a supervisory capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, trust and estate administration, estate litigation, and related tax matters, as well as proven leadership ability to oversee and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all aspects of trust and estate planning, administration, and estate litigation, probate proceedings.
- Review and oversee drafting of complex estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts & wills
- Advise clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax strategies.
- Coordinate with accountants and financial advisors on integrated tax and wealth-preservation plans.
- Oversee and train junior attorneys and paralegals in case management, drafting, and client communication.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, ethical standards, and court filing procedures.
- Manage client relationships, review billing, and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active New York (New Jersey and Florida is a plus) Bar membership.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in trusts and estates law, including estate administration and tax planning.
- Strong understanding of estate and gift taxation, fiduciary income tax, and probate procedures.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- LL.M. in Taxation a plus, but not required.
