Successful boutique Family Law Firm seeks a tenacious, personable Associate Attorney to manage a diverse portfolio of family law cases. Must have at least 5 years experience within Family Law. The candidate must already be licensed with The Florida Bar.

Our firm represents clients in both Central and South Florida. The candidate must live within the Central Florida area and have reliable transportation for expected travel to Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake and Volusia County courthouses. Post-COVID, Schlegel Law Group may reopen physical offices in downtown Orlando and Miami, but until then, all employees will continue to work remotely. Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, strong organizational and analytical skills, and have empathy and passion for helping individuals going thru highly emotional family law matters.

The Associate Attorney will collaborate with, and report to, the Senior Attorney in charge of each case, as well as gain valuable insight and experience in both litigation and collaborative law methods.

Associate Attorney duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Researching and analyzing the law on complex issues and writing briefs for submission to a supervising lawyer in the firm
  • Maintaining effective written and electronic communication with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and office staff as needed.
  • Preparing, analyzing and summarizing complicated family law pleadings, court documents, contracts, and written and electronic communications
  • Performing discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation
  • Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, depositions and trials at the direction of the senior attorney.
  • Maintain accurate client information and data within multiple software applications, including but not limited to Dropbox, RocketMatter, Family Law Software, and Google Business Management of Gmail, Calendaring and Contacts.
  • Meet customary and standard billing requirements expected for an associate attorney. Billing expectations will be determined based upon the financial compensation agreed upon at time of hire.

Base Salary will be commensurate with experience. Health insurance and paid time off to be determined at time of hire and available after 90 day review.
