Description:
Responsibilities:- Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including misdemeanors and felonies.
- Prepare and argue motions, conduct legal research, and draft pleadings.
- Attend court hearings, arraignments, plea negotiations, and trials.
- Conduct client interviews and maintain clear communication throughout the legal process.
- Analyze case law, statutes, and evidence to develop strong defense strategies.
- Negotiate with prosecutors to achieve favorable plea agreements when applicable.
- Assist in jury selection, witness preparation, and trial advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Alabama and in good standing with the Alabama State Bar.
- Experience or strong interest in criminal defense law.
- Strong litigation, negotiation, and trial preparation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Passion for defending the rights of individuals facing criminal charges.
- Travel to courts in various cities across Alabama as needed for client representation.
