Description:

Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law located in Orlando, Florida, is seeking tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professors of Law for the 2023-2024 academic year in various subject areas.

Areas of particular interest are Legal Research and Writing (LRW); Business Organizations; and Constitutional Law. However, candidates focused on teaching in other subject areas may also be considered.

Title will depend on the experience of the candidate.

We welcome candidates with outstanding academic credentials, including a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school; practice experience, and/or judicial clerkship experience. The successful applicant also will have experiences that suggest the ability to effectively teach students in a legal education setting. The compensation will be commensurate with the successful candidate's current rank, title, education, and experience.

Essential Function:
  • Teach for 13 weeks during Fall and Spring Semesters. Class times vary depending on the credit hours.
  • Perform committee work, scholarship, student mentoring, and student advising.

Educational/Experiential Requirements:
  • Must hold a J.D. with active license
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrable, or potential for, outstanding scholarship
  • Prior teaching experience with the target courses is advantageous, but not required

At least four years of practice experience in area(s) relevant to target courses is required, either through private practice, government or public service.
Commitment to the mission of the Law School and its curricular and instructional methods and goals.
