The A Third-Largest Life Insurance Company Legal Department is seeking a real estate attorney with 5+ years' experience to support A Third-Largest Life Insurance Company Real Estate Investors, a team of approximately 150 investment professionals.
What You'll Do:
- Represent institutional mortgage, construction and mezzanine lenders/borrowers; advise on complex real estate finance transactions.
- Demonstrate expertise with intercreditor, co-lender, and participation agreements, including both pari passu and senior/subordinate structures.
- Strong experience with real estate funds and investment structures.
- Experience in a variety of equity transactions, including real estate acquisition and disposition, joint ventures, leasing, and asset management.
- Proficiency in development and construction matters, reviewing design, development and other construction-related contracts; basic knowledge of construction, zoning and land use law.
- Experience managing sophisticated commercial leasing deals across office, industrial, and retails sectors.
What You'll Bring:
- JD degree and admission to practice law in New York (required).
- 5+ years' of relevant experience, either in a law firm or in-house.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely. Attention to detail is essential.
- Strong initiative, dependability, motivation, and a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Background:
- Currently working in a law firm's real estate group, with a majority of experience in this area.
