Job Summary:
The Assistant General Counsel is a senior role in the commercial legal team, responsible for providing strategic and practical legal advice to the business and sales units on a variety of matters, such as contracts, disputes, compliance, intellectual property, and risk management. The Assistant General Counsel also mentors other legal professionals, develops best practices and templates, and co-leads legal education initiatives within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works with limited supervision. Creative problem solving, manages internal customer relationships, understand strategic vision, executes to goals of strategy, management of outside counsel including budgeting for legal matters.
  • Manages higher level risk, complexity, and business impact.
  • Recommends and drives best practices.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Reports to The Associate General Counsel of The Business Vertical
  • This Role Has Direct Supervisory Duties Over Senior Counsel and Corporate Counsel
  • Job May Be Responsible for Managing Other Employees (e.G., Hiring/termination And/or Pay Decisions, Performance Management).
  • May Supervise Professional Staff or Less Experienced Attorneys

Knowledge Requirements
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have Extensive Experience in Commercial Law, Strong Communication and Negotiation Skills, and A Collaborative and Innovative Mindset.
  • Prior Experience in Healthcare Device Manufacturing, Drug Development And/or Sterilization Technology, or Demonstrated Ability to Quickly Learn and Apply the Relevant Laws and Regulations in These Domains
  • Good Oral and Written Communication, Good Judgement, Strong Interpersonal Skills, Demonstrate Ability to Work in A Changing, Fast Paced, and Energetic Environment.
  • Strong Work Ethic, Motivated and Self-Starter, Ability to Resolve Conflict, Business Acumen with Business-Oriented Approach to Problem Solving, Ability to Prioritize and Manage Competing Demands

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7-12 Years of Legal Experience or An Equivalent Combination of Education, Training or Experience.
  • Graduate of An Aba or Foreign Equivalent Law School, Member of A Bar in Good Standing, Eligible to Practice Law in Usa (florida Preferred).
  • Or an Equivalent Combination of Education, Training or Experience.
