Description:
Overview:Responsible for providing legal guidance across a broad range of commercial matters, including contracts, consumer-related matters, risk management and general business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Contracts and Transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, supply agreements, service agreements, licensing agreements, and NDAs.
- Provide legal guidance on structuring commercial deals, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and improving contract templates, policies, and processes to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal business teams to optimize contract terms and mitigate risk.
- Review and advise on a wide range of consumer-facing documents to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Advise on and mitigate potential consumer risks for existing and new products or business.
- Assist in developing and improving company policies and procedures.
- Provide day-to-day legal guidance to business teams on a variety of legal issues.
- Manage outside counsel as needed for specialized legal matters.
Experience and Skills:
- 6+ years experience handling a broad range of complex commercial matters or 3+ years strong experience with commercial contracts and transactions. In-house experience is preferred but not a requirement.
- Experience in partnering with business teams to mitigate risk while supporting business goals.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with business partners and legal team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify potential legal issues proactively and develop practical solutions.

Requirements:
- Education: Juris Doctor required
- Minimum of 6 years experience handling a broad range of complex commercial matters or minimum 3 years strong experience with commercial contracts and transactions.
- Licensed attorney in good standing; active status in minimum of one state; admitted to practice in one or more states. Ability to get Ohio Corporate Counsel license if not already licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
