Description: The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Maryland. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has the general charge, supervision, and direction of the legal business of the State, acting as legal advisors and representatives of the major agencies, various boards, commissions, officials, and institutions of State Government. As Maryland's 47th Attorney General, Anthony G. Brown, leads the Office with a key focus on equity, justice, and fairness.?

OAG is seeking applicants for an experienced attorney to represent the Maryland State Department of Education (“MSDE"). The Assistant Attorney General will have two primary responsibilities: giving advice and counsel to the Division of Business Services on a variety of legal matters concerning state procurements, grants, and contracts; and advising the Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Program and BOOST Advisory Board. Additional duties include representing the MSDE in administrative matters and in State of Maryland and federal courts.

Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Familiarity with Maryland procurement law and contract litigation is a plus. Excellent research and writing skills and strong interpersonal communication skills are a must. Membership in good standing in the Maryland Bar is required.
