We are looking for a talented, active and results-oriented Contract Specialist/Junior Legal Counsel to be based in our well-established IHS Markit Legal Team supporting the international Automotive Insight team. The role involves dealing with commercial agreements, data and policy related projects and advising the business on various commercial legal matters.

  • Reviewing, negotiating and drafting wide variety of commercial contracts including data license and services agreements, processing agreements, web-based services, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements and other commercial transactions.
  • Interact and collaborate internal team members on other legal matters including: Information security, Privacy (GDPR, DPPA, CCPA), managing and protecting the Company’s intellectual property.
  • Support the Automotive data team and other business teams as required and provide them with adequate and innovative business solutions.

Education & Experience:
  • You either hold a law degree from a university or law school and have gained some (commercial) legal drafting and negotiation experience in a law firm or in-house;
  • Or you have a university degree and 5+ years’ in-house experience in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts;
  • Must have an excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
  • Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, proactive, willingness to learn, inquisitive with a friendly personality and excellent written and oral communications skills;
  • Capability to work both autonomously and as a team player under pressure in a fast-paced sales environment;
  • Capability to build strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across different functions and cultures, and
  • Confidence to deal with all levels of the organization.
