  • Juris Doctor or equivalent degree
  • 2-3 years working in collections law; preferably 4-5 years or more; experience before being admitted to the bar also considered.

Essential Functions:
  • Directs and oversees the affiliated rental companies’ resolution and recovery team.
  • Oversees and manages use of outside legal vendors, including managing and growing the company’s outside counsel network.
  • Achieves company operational objectives for the affiliated rental companies’ resolution and recovery team by implementing productivity and quality standards; identifying system improvements; advising executive management team on needed change; and implementing change.
  • Works with the collections team to monitor accounts with multiple buildings and delinquent accounts for timely payments.
  • Supports company positions by developing company responses and defenses to complaints, investigations, and administrative proceedings.
  • Handles routine calls with outside attorneys; handles escalated customer issues.
  • Coordinates building pickup efforts including drafting form pickup letters and final notices to customers.
  • Prepares rental company contracts for review and approval and ensures company compliance with legal requirements by studying existing and new statutes, recorded judicial decisions, and regulations; and enforcing adherence to legal requirements.
  • Enhances company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Juris Doctor or equivalent degree

  • 2-3 years working in collections law, bankruptcy, or state court litigation; preferably 4-5 years or more; experience before being admitted to the bar also considered.
  • Admitted to a state bar, preferably TN, GA, KY, VA, CA, NY, WV, or PA.
